Far East Skate Network - "43-26": 25th Anniversary Reissue

Takahiro Morita's fourth FESN video came a full 4 years after the first 3, Far East Skate Network, Tozainanboku, and Subway were all filmed in quick succession over three years and the progression that had been made in the Japanese scene was, and still is so clear to see. The fits remained as fresh as ever, but the level of skating had accelerated, handrails and hammers in general had become more prominent. The Okinawa section features the first footage of Gou Miyagi, proving he always had that uncanny balance on a round bar, the night and subway footage looks amazing, and the shared part between Tohru Yoshida and Alexander Lee Chang is an absolute pleasure.

The documentary on this one is special too. Morita talks fondly about filming Tohru Yoshida and Alexander Lee Chang's part with contributions from Toru and Lee themselves, there's interviews with Gou Miyagi, the artist Aruto Watanabe who made the painting for the cover of 43-26, Gou Ueda and more, and the film ends with the story of an epic late night indoor park session.

61 minutes with 25 minute making of documentary. Comes with a full colour 16 page booklet about the production of the video and a sticker.

Another stellar package in what is turning out to be an amazing series of reissues from Takahiro Morita and FESN.
