A bit of an anomaly this one to be on Palomino, and I have to be honest I ummed and ahhd whether it should be on here as it's not produced by skaters (as far as I'm aware), but as far as things made about skateboarding by people that don't skateboard this one is up there as the best I've seen.
Numbered is an "independent annual fashion & art magazine about sub cultures and their influence on modern aesthetic" which each issue focussing on a different theme, and the theme of issue 2 is skateboard culture. Numbered is split over two parts and features amazing photo stories from photographers Isabel Okoro in her hometown of Lagos with Fahd Bello and the Iter crew, Vava Ribeiro shooting in Sao Paulo and the photo editor of Numbered Timothy Schaumburg in the desert of Namibia. All this interspersed with fashion stories featuring vintage skateboard clothing.
The second part of the magazine has an interview with London skate Mia Gurary about her brand Slacker, a piece on the history of skateboarding's love affair with ripping off other brands, a first glimpse of Grant Sorrell's new book of photography from Stockwell Faces Of The Beach, a preview of Lanna Apisukh's NYC book Skate Park Life and more.
There's so much in here, a rare example of people from outside the culture and community of skateboarding getting it right. Also, it has to be one of the biggest (It's massive!!!) and poshest things that's ever been sold in Palomino.
