Ed Templeton: Wires Crossed

It feels like a long time ago Ed Templeton first teased his book of photos from his years spent on the road with a skateboard, but the wait is over and Wires Crossed is here. To say it doesn't disappoint is quite the understatement.

Shot between 1995 and 2012 the photographs are accompanied with "maps, contemporaneous texts, and other collected ephemera. Ed has said he started this project "to answer the question 'What is it like to be a pro skateboarder". As a photography book to people outside of skateboarding it achieves that and them some (with regards to its moment in time, 1995-2012), but to those of us within the culture it's simply one of the greatest documents of this - or any - era way beyond just the technical and documentarian quality of the images.

Hardbound, 264 pages, 8.6" x 11".

Alongside an interview with Ed, there are interviews with Brian Anderson, Erik Ellington, Justin Regan, Elissa Steamer, and Deanna Templeton.

As good as it gets.
