A really very special new 'zine/book from Londoner Myles Morgan Bailey, centring around the subject of loss, how this loss can affect us and the friendships than can help us through the darkest of days, and how those who are no longer with us can bring communities together and help strengthen bonds even in their absence.
The deaths of Ben Raemers, Wilson Alexandre Garcia Varela and Johnthan Jesutofunmi Adebanjo were such a huge loss for the London and wider British skateboard scenes. The community came together and organised memorial events to remember our friends and celebrate their lives and Myles was present to document this period and those events in London. The series of photos in Wake capture these events and how they affected him over the past year (2020-2021), and after traumatic experiences of his own during this time the 'zine takes on a diaristic and autobiographical nature.
First numbered edition of 100, 64 pages, B&W, 28 X 21cm. A portion of the proceeds from the book will be going to The Ben Raemers Foundation.
Published by Vessel Editions.
